Our Mission

Shakespeare Under the Stars is proud to be a vital part of Walla Walla’s vibrant community and artistic tradition. We are here to engage, entertain, inspire, and create a welcoming space where everyone—whether a first-time theatre-goer or a lifelong arts patron—feels at home. Our goal is to foster a sense of connection in the community and develop an understanding of and appreciation for Shakespeare’s works. We believe in the power of the arts to bring people together and enrich our community, offering a platform where creativity thrives and audiences leave excited to return.

This production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the first in a planned annual series of summer Shakespeare performances, created with accessibility and community at its core. Our mission is to bring high-quality, approachable classical theatre to Walla Walla, while removing barriers to participation by offering pay-what-you-will pricing.

By combining visiting & local actors, and community volunteers, we aim to create a uniquely Walla Walla production that belongs to the community.
